Plaintiff filed a spoliation motion. The court deemed it “baseless.” It wrote that the motion “faults Defendant for not certifying within forty-eight hours of service that it has preserved information relevant to this litigation.”
The Court’s rejection of that motion was unequivocal: “Plaintiff cannot unilaterally set deadlines for Defendant and then seek to sanction Defendant for failing to comply with them.” Dortie v. Marriott International, Inc., 2026 WL 2647599 (D. Md. Sep. 9, 2026)(Chasanow, J.).
